Wanted: Duron Smith Allegedly Drags Officer In Harrisburg

A 44-year-old convicted felon is wanted by the police for dragging an officer by his vehicle down a Harrisburg street, authorities announced on Monday.

Duron Smith "has an active arrest warrant for aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer by Dauphin County Criminal Investigation Division," the police stated in the release on April 1. 

The officer was dragged by Smith's vehicle for an unknown distance along South Second Street in Harrisburg on Jan. 26, 2024, according to the warrant notification. 

Smith has felon convictions in Dauphin County for drug dealing and illegal firearm possession, court records show. He served several years behind bars followed by probation. 

Since this incident, he has been charged with the following with an incident date of March 8, although details about the case were not immediately available: 

  • Felony Aggravated Assault - Attempts to cause or causes bodily injuries to designated individuals

  • Misdemeanor Recklessly Endangering Another Person.

  • Misdemeanor Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Officer.

  • Summary Fail Stop And Give Infor Render Aid.

A $2,000 reward has been offered for information leading to his arrest.
